Karin Adams

KARIN ADAMS has worked in Communications and Public Relations for Indigo Rose Software, and as an instructor at the University of Winnipeg. She is the author of two humorous children’s novels, Lights! Curtains! Cows! (Lorimer, 2009) and No TV? No Fair! (Lorimer, 2010). Both of her books had a remarkable debut, each landing on the children’s fiction best-seller list in Manitoba. Young people all over the world continue to enjoy her books, and Karin loves hearing from them! Karin is also a popular guest speaker and professional creative writing workshop leader for educational and recreational literary programs.

Recent projects include writing the script for an animated short with director/animator Anita Lebeau and composer Paul Shrofel. Karin has also been welcomed into the Manitoba Arts Council’s prestigious Artists in the Schools community of artist instructors. Through artist residencies in Manitoba schools, Karin works intensively with students and educators to promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of the craft of creative writing.

Karin’s ongoing partnership with Anita Lebeau at No Play No Work has been a source of creative joy, and a natural step in a career that has constantly explored how media and story come together to make magic.

Karin lives with her husband and two adorable miniature dachshunds in Winnipeg.
